Budapest-Cairo flight, airport transfer and accommodation. The arrival depends on an easy evening walk and a shared dinner. Night in Cairo.
Bahariya, Farafra, Dakhla, Kharga
A week beyond
the Nile Valley.
The first two days are Cairo's and Giza's. Then we turn west towards Bahariya. We'll take a cruise through the Black Desert, Crystal Mountain, and Agabat to the White Desert where we sleep outside.
Through Farafra, Dakhla and Kharga's oases, we will go down to Luxor. On the way, we also leave time for settlements, markets, workshops and local meetings. The family and workshop programmes will be coordinated with local partners.
Dakhla, two nights
In the oasis,
we stay for a day.
The narrow streets of Al- Qasr, pottery shop, farms and palm limets. After Balat, Ain Asil and Qila al-Dabba, we go back to sleep. You don't have to take a new place every night.

Additional costs to plan for
- Budapest-Cairo and Luxor-Budapest international airline tickets and selected ticket baggage.
- Egyptian visa.
- Travel and accident insurance, arranged by each participant at their own expense.
- Single-room supplement, quoted separately in writing.
- Alcohol drinks, individual consumption and personal expenses.
Accommodation and activity level
Eight nights in accommodation, double-housed; one night in a desert bull or camp. There are several hours of driving, terrain sections, walks in uneven terrain and simple camp conditions. It's not a multi-day walking trekking.
All 9 nights of the 20–29 March itinerary are included. Accommodation and meals for earlier arrivals or extensions after the programme must be arranged separately.
March 20-29.
Day by day
21 March - Cairo and Giza
In the morning, Giza and the pyramids. In the afternoon, Islamic Cairo, old parts of town, markets, street life and local food. Night in Cairo.
22 March - Cairo Bahariya
Psalms, local farms and sources; if possible family or farm reunion. Sunset on the edge of the desert. About 360 kilometers, 4-5 hours. At night in Bahariya.
23 March - Black Desert Crystal Mountain Agabat White Desert
We travel by 4×4 through the Black Desert and Agabat. Sunset, dinner and a bivouac or camp in the White Desert.
March 24th - White Desert Farafra
Sunrise and breakfast in the desert. In Farafra, palmalets, gardens and Badr Abdel Moghny's workshop; possibly Bir Sitta is a warm spring. Night in Farafra.
25 March - Farafra Dakhla
Further south on the oasis route. Small settlements, palm groves and sunsets. About 310 km, 4 hours. Night in Dakhla.
26 March - Dakhla
Al- Qasr Vádogogtown, pottery workshop, farms and palm lides. Balat, Ain Asil and Qila al-Dabba. Second night in Dakhla.
27 March - Dakhla Kharga
Al-Bagawat and Hibis; a remote Roman desert location only if the permit and safety conditions allow. About 200 km, 2.5-3 hours. At night in Kharga.
28 March - Kharga Luxor
Return to Nile, rest, Nile Beach and dinner together. About 250-280 km, 4 hours. At night in Luxor.
29 March - Luxor Budapest
Depending on the time of the flight, in the morning for Karnak, then airport transfer and home travel.
Distances and driving times are approximate. The family, farm and workshop programs, the Bir Sitta source and the remote Kharga location depend on local confirmation. The daily order may be adjusted according to road conditions, permits, weather and safety situation, with participant information. Get ready for several hours of driving, off-road sections, uneven terrain walks and a simple desert night. This is not a multi-day walking trekking and not a camouflage road.
Application and agreement
Let’s talk
about the trip first.
Standard price: EUR 1350 per person, with no automatic discount. A 30% deposit of EUR 405 per person is due when booking. The balance is EUR 945 per person; full payment is due by 20 December 2026. Cancellation before 20 January 2027: the deposit is non-refundable, but any amount paid above it is refunded. From 20 January until before 20 February: 50% of the full price, EUR 675 per person, is refunded. From 20 February there is no refund. The deposit is not deducted again from the 50% refund. If the organiser cancels because the minimum group size is not reached or the agreed arrangements cannot be fulfilled, all payments are refunded. The personalised agreement contains the detailed terms for transferring a place and force majeure. Purchase flights only after written confirmation that the departure will go ahead.
Detailed rules for the transfer of seats, force majeure and organizational renunciation will be given to you in the individual agreement. Submission of the application form does not order a premium service.
